A total of $11,813.25 was raised towards our goal of $6,000

SYC Light The Night Walk to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada

Light the Night is an annual event to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help patients battle blood cancers. This year, SYC was able to exceed our goal of $6000 and raised an incredible $11,813.25!! Thank you to each person who donated and came to the walk to support this cause. Together, we were able to contribute a large amount and help in this positive change for the greater community.

Funds donated are used to provide:

• Lifesaving blood cancer research
• Educational materials for patients and their families
• Programs such as: Family Support Groups and First connection (a peer-to-peer counselling program)
• Personalized assistance through Light the Night’s Information Resource Center
   

Update to Flair4Famine Event:

Who: Sikh Youth Calgary

What: Meet and Greet. Get to know everyone and have a good time!
When: Sunday August 7 from 2pm – 7:30pm
Where: Panorama Community Center (88 Panamount Hill NW)

The goal here is to involve everyone regardless of their lifestyles so we can all be ourselves. This will be a casual, open, and friendly environment without any formal lectures/presentations. You are welcome to share your own ideas for events and discuss ways to contribute/volunteer for the good of society.

Along with some entertaining team building activities, there will be pizza, pabhi/bhabhi (card game), and people like you that want to create positive change within our communities.

Yes, its finally here!
Kicks 4 Cancer Soccer Fundraiser Tournament for Charity...

For all ages, from the kids to the uncles. Seperate divisions will be held according to age and gender. Event is being held at the Calgary Subway Soccer Center (Calgary Soccer Federation), which is straight down 52nd Avenue, about a 25 min drive from Martindale Gurdwara Sahib.

All Funds raised will be going towards The Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.

Registration Ends August 9th, 2011!!!!!
Manditory Captains (team representative) meeting will be held on August 10th, 2011 to gather fees and discuss some important points about the tournament.

So come out and help the children in need by playing the worlds most poplular sport... also known as The Beautiful Game...
