The Calgary Sikh community would like to extend our Ardaas (prayers) and heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the family of the suspect(s), the three individuals still fighting for their lives, and all those who have been impacted by this tragedy at the Sikh Temple in Wisconsin.
The local Sikh community is very saddened upon hearing the news of the senseless act that took place and would like to extend an open invitation to the greater Calgary community to join us in this Ardaas and stand in solidarity. The entire Calgary Sikh community will be holding a Chaupi Sahib Paath (prayer for strength) and candlelight vigil for all those affected by this tragedy. The event will be held on August 7, 2012 at 7:30pm MST at Dashmesh Culture Centre, 135 Martindale Blvd NE.
We ask all that attend to dress in white (representing peace and tranquility). There will also be a large banner for participants to share the condolences, that will be sent to the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin.
On Friday August 10,2012, there will be an Akhand Paath (48 hours of continues prayers) which will complete on August 12, 2012 at 9:30PM MST 7 days after the tragedy occurred.

When: Saturday July 28th from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Where: Genesis Centre, 7555 Falconridge Boulevard NE
Why: The event will feature professionals from different sectors in a speed-networking format with group collaboration as well as an open networking session to follow. Our objective is to provide an opportunity for the youth to meet with professionals and be exposed to multiple points of views on their desired careers.
