Mark your calendars for our large youth meeting on April 29, 2012 @ 6pm at the Martindale Gurdwara upstairs gallery. We will go over the route and assign teams (float, rope, bike).
Drop-In Volunteering
SYC Drop-In Centre (1 Dermot Baldwin Way SE) volunteering coming up: Sunday, Feb. 5 from 5:30-7pm. Next one is Sunday, Feb. 26 from 5:30-7pm. Volunteers help serve food to the clients there. Please email sikhyc@gmail.com if you would like to help out!
Design A Shirt 2012

Come up with a unique Design and slogan/quote for the new 2012 SYC Shirts!!!
For 2012 Submit designs/slogans which are related to one or a combination of the following:
1) Charitable causes (cancer, food drives, famine, etc)
2) Sports
3) Life Events (Changes in the upcoming year, Revolutions, Sikhi Related, etc)

There will be a prize of $50 gift card, a free t- shirt for the top few designs and winners names will be announced throughout the year!!

Light The Night 2011
A total of $11,813.25 was raised towards our goal of $6,000
SYC Light The Night Walk to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada
Light the Night is an annual event to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help patients battle blood cancers. This year, SYC was able to exceed our goal of $6000 and raised an incredible $11,813.25!! Thank you to each person who donated and came to the walk to support this cause. Together, we were able to contribute a large amount and help in this positive change for the greater community.
Funds donated are used to provide:
- Lifesaving blood cancer research
- Educational materials for patients and their families
- Programs such as: Family Support Groups and First connection (a peer-to-peer counselling program)

Personalized assistance through Light the Night’s Information Resource Center
